Tudor and Medieval Music in Schools

Medieval Music in School

Music and History

Early music can be a direct link with the past, bringing it to life in the classroom.  The songs and dances of another age give a glimpse into the lives of the people who first created them.

Misericordia use music to put children in touch with history, and offer them a unique opprtunity to see, hear, touch and even play authentic early instruments.

We give a short interactive concert, which includes hands-on demonstrations of the instruments. We discuss life in the Middle Ages, and give lessons in Medieval and Tudor dancing. It's all done in period costume, with outfits provided for children too.

This programme is adjustable to the age and ability of the class. Misericordia have worked with children from nursery age to A-level music students - also special needs and special interest groups.
